Obituary of Clyde H Hooks

Rev. Clyde H. Hooks age 61, of Lake City, TN passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 8, 2017at his home with his family surrounding him. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Clyde loved the Lord, was such an example, a mentor to a lot of people in the ministry and pastored Cross Connection Apostolic Church in Lake City, TN for 5 years. He was a man of faith and of many talents, great musician, enjoyed playing the guitar, bass guitar, piano, organ, and mandolin. Clyde was very giving, and always put others first. He was loved by everyone. Clyde is preceded in death by his father, Clyde Douglas; mother, Barbara Brissette; step fathers, Ray Hooks, and Herbert Brissette; and granddaughter, Madison Neeley. Clyde is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jeanie Hooks of Lake City, TN; son, Steven Hooks and wife, Emily of Lake City, TN; daughters, Elsie Hooks of Lake City, TN, and Amy Clabough and husband, Matt of Clinton, TN; brother, Wayne Hooks of Powell, TN; aunt, Betty Hicks and husband, Veagus of Lake City, TN; grandchildren, Bobby Simpson and wife, Glenda, Brent Simpson, Gavin Neeley, Micah Neeley, Bailey Neeley, Korben Clabough, Kaidyn Clabough, Sarah Hooks, and Rebekah Hooks; nephew, Randy Snyder and many friends. Clyde’s family will receive his friends on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm with his celebration of life to follow at 8:00pm at Eagle Bend Apostolic Church in Clinton, TN with Rev. David Triplett, Rev. Wesley Riggs, and Brent Simpson officiating. Clyde’s interment will be at 11:00am on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Foust cemetery in Lake City, TN. Clyde’s pallbearers will be, Steven Hooks, Bobby Simpson, Gavin Neeley, David Trantanella, Darrell Perry, and Gary Harness. Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN is in charge of all arrangements.
