Obituary of Billy Shope

Billy Kay Shope Sr. age 60 of Oak Ridge, TN passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at his residence. Billy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved to fish, and spending time with his grandkids. Billy was of the Baptist faith. He was a hard worker all through his life doing carpentry and concrete work. Billy was a very honest and dependable person. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, John & Marie Shope; sister, Mary Anne Shope and several other sisters & brothers. Billy is survived by his wife, Dorothy Shope of Oak Ridge, TN; sons, Billy Shope Jr. of Antioch, TN, Robert Shope of Oak Ridge, TN, Kelly Shope of Clinton, TN; daughters, Angie Shope of Clinton, TN, Brenda Lee of Nashville, TN; brothers, Alfred Shope of Maynardville, TN, Thomas Shope of Luttrell, TN, John Shope Jr. of Sharps Chapel, TN; sisters, Patsy Bailey of Union Co. TN whom Billy had a special relationship with, Teresa Shope of Union Co. TN, Darlene Collins of Luttrell, TN, and Carolyn Wilkerson of Maynardville, TN; 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, Aunt Polly of Maynardville, TN, and a host of other relatives and friends. Billy's family will receive his friends on Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm with his funeral service following at 8:00 pm in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with Rev. Kenny Rains officiating. His interment will be Friday, May 16th at 12:00 pm at Oak Ridge Memorial Park in Oak Ridge, TN. Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN is in charge of all arrangements.
