I trust and hope that the story I share will be of encouragement to Vern, Scott and Stephanie.
My first memories of Jean and the Messamore Family, was them attending the First Wesleyan Church where my father, Rev. Sam Condon, was the pastor.
Vern, Jean and the kids always loved to stick around after church and talk. I can remember Jean's hardy laughter as she enjoyed fellow-shipping with those from the church. There wasn't a time that I had a conversation with Jean that her face glowed, her smile was contagious and that her eyes sparkled. She enjoyed each moment and embraced those around her with joy and kindness.
As a youngster, teenager and young adult; I noticed and enjoyed that every time the church doors were open, the Messamore Family was there. My sisters and I became very close to Jean and her precious family. When my sisters (Linda and Darla) and I became teenagers, our parents allowed us to have sleepovers at the Messamore's home. Wow, those were the days!!! Vern and Jean let us stay us as long as we wanted to (sometimes all night)! We enjoyed watching movies and eating snacks all though the hours of the night. These times of fellowship, fun and food, will always be etched in my memory!
Precious Memories....how they linger!
Vern, Scott and Stephanie, I want to say "Thank You" for allowing your wife/mother to be a "Special Christian Lady" to help make me who I am today. Her friendship, kindness, support and prayers for me while growing up in Clinton will always be remembered.
Vern, Scott and Stephanie may God grace you with His presence as you face the difficult and grieving days ahead.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Love always,
Charlene (Condon) Holbrook
