What precious memories we have of Miss. Betty aka Mom. We treasured the lake trips with her & Quentin. She always brought the sandwiches & chips! Going out to eat with them was always a delight, although she barely touched her food. She loved all of our exchange students, showering them with hugs every Sunday after Church. She even gave me some jewelry that three of our girls have worn to prom. She was indeed hard of hearing but that smile made up for any deficit. I’m going to miss setting next to that sweet lady every Sunday. When we sang hymns from our seats she would harmonize with me, her being an alto. I often asked her to join the choir with us, but she would reply ‘I’m too old & I can’t hear’. Well, she is singing in Heavens Choir now ! She certainly made quite an impact on me, especially her love for children & for the Lord.
