Obituary of Bernadine Sexton

Bernadine Sexton, age 63 of Rocky Top, TN, passed away on October 31, 2020 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. She was a true woman of God who loved her grandchildren dearly. She loved singing. Bernadine received a kidney transplant 9 years ago and was so grateful for the many years it gave her with her family that she decided to give the gift of life when she passed. She is preceded in death by her father, Hubert Sexton, Jr. and sister, Rachel Sexton. Bernadine is survived and will be greatly missed by her sons, Joe Sexton of Knoxville and Shawn Brooks (Carla) of Oliver Springs; daughters, Mary King of Knoxville and Jessica Campbell (Cory) of Clinton; mother, Emma Sue Sexton of Rocky Top; brothers, Jerry Sexton, Anthony Sexton and David Sexton; sisters, Valerie Sexton, Judy Sexton, Betty Phillips (Cline) and Elizabeth Kidd (Marshall); grandchildren, Mason, Rain, Halie, Jade and Khloe. Special thanks to the staff at University of Tennessee Medical Center for the compassion and care they showed our mother and us during such a difficult time. Family and friends can call at their convenience on Wednesday, November 4th from 3:00-6:00pm in the chapel of Jones Mortuary.
