I will miss our birthday phone calls to chat and catch up on our family life. We would visit grandparents in Virginia and have a great time. Then they would come to Indiana and more fun. We would go and visit them in Clinton. I am an only child ....Susan was more like a sister than a cousin. I will truly miss our talks.

Susan was both a mentor and a friend for the ten years we worked together in TVA’s Heritage Program. She had a great sense of humor once you got to know her and was one of the wisest people I have ever known. She always offered great advice, no matter if the issue was personal or professional, she helped me through it. To this day, whenever I have a problem, I still ask myself what Susan would do in this situation, so in a way she’s still offering the guidance she was so good at. She did an incredible job with TVA’s threatened and endangered species database that she managed for 22 years – the largest database of its kind in the southeast and one of the largest in the country. It won several awards. We sure could use her help with it right now. I know Susan is in a better place and watching out for all of us. Rest in peace Susan and I’ll see you on down the road. Your friend, Kenny.

I was saddened to hear about the passing of Susan. I worked with her at TVA and I always enjoyed talking to her and laughing at her funny stories. When I was brought on as an intern (my first start in TVA in 2002) she was always so helpful and so full of knowledge about everything related to my role. I respected Susan because you always knew where you stood with her, she did not sugar coat anything. She would tell you like it is and how it should be. I will so miss her laugh. I loved to hear her when she got fired up about something. So sorry for the family's loss. She will be missed.

Fond memories of Susan go back to high school. She was always fun to be around; always had a funny story to tell about her kids or animals. I looked forward to seeing her whenever I could. She is a treasure that will be missed by all of us who loved her.
