Obituary of Hubert Ray Widener

Hubert Ray Widener age 84 of Heiskell, TN passed away on Friday, January 12, 2017 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, TN.  He was born March 23, 1933 in Bristol, VA.  Hubert enjoyed fishing and camping.  He was of the Baptist faith.

Hubert is preceded in death by his parents, Haden M. Sr. and Ella V. Urps Widener; 8 infant siblings, sister, Elizabeth Carter Carrier; and 2 brothers, Clarence O. Widener and Haden M. Widener Jr.

Hubert is survived by his wife of 47 years Gladys (Dean) Rose Widener; children, daughters, Shelia Widener and Sherae Shipley and husband Rick; sons, Jeffrey V. Widener, Jimmy R. Widener and wife Tonya, and Bryan J. Widener and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Brooke Widener, Hunter Shipley and wife Rayanne, Jeffrey Widener Jr., Bryson Widener, and Maggie Widener; great grandchild, Easton Shipley; 6 step grandchildren, 10 step great grandchildren; nephew, Mike Carter; brother in law, Zel Rose; special friend, Robert Stevens and other friends.

Hubert’s family will receive his friends from 12:30pm – 2:00pm with his celebration of life following at 2:00pm on Sunday, January 14, 2018 in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with Rev. Doug Fielden officiating. Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN is in charge of all arrangements.
