Quack was a very good friend and mentor of mine for many years. We i first had the idea of being a police officer it was Quack who encouraged me. And then as a police officer he taught me community policing. How to engage the citizens that I was sworn to protect. Quack will be missed but never forgotten. Thank You Sargent for all you did for me. God Bless you.

I am so sorry for your loss, Quack was the first Sgt. that I ever had when I got into Law Enforcement and he was the best . Quack taught me how to be a police officer but also to be polite with others when it was time to be polite . I remember the first time I ever saw Quack it was years ago when I was just a kid and I will never forget it. He was funny and everyone loved him. He will be missed by everyone that knew him, I don't think there would be enough books to hold all the names of the people who's lives were touched by Quack. My deepest condolences to all of the family, God bless and give you comfort,( my brother in blue) Sgt. Quack Everette Nelson Rest In Peace.

As I've told several people, Everette was the very first officer I ever rode with back in 1974 when I joined the Clinton Police Department as a Reserve Officer. He taught me the benefits of treating any individual with respect and a smile to ease whatever situation we arrived to deal with. His late Son Terry was cut from the same mold and I spent many hundreds of hours patrolling with him as well. He will be missed but fondly remembered and I will always cherish the time working with him and many of the "old guard" officers of the Clinton Police Department. Deepest sympathy and respect to his entire family.
