My family and I have known Bob and Ruth Anne since the early 1970s when they were stationed at Ellsworth AFB near Rapid City. My brother and I would often double date with Bob and Ruth Anne. We referred to Bob as the Tennessee Torpedo because of his incredible energy and riveting stories of his life in the USAF. Bob and Ruth Anne were and are very dear friends, very much like family! Bob and I were also email buddies and kept in close contact. While working at Rockwell Collins, I learned that one of my co-workers Tom Cobb and Bob had served together in Vietnam -- an amazing coincidence. Bob would often stop by my home in Iowa on his way to South Dakota on hunting trips. He would bring us honey and moonshine:) It saddened us all very much to hear of Bob's passing. He was a wonderful friend and we will miss him greatly. Our very best to Ruth Anne.

Bro, you and Judy left us way too soon. Judy in May 2016 and now you, 13 months later. We sure wish we had all of both back! We know you are at peace and we know where you are now and most of all, Jackie and I both know we are going to have one big family reunion the next time we see you all! Until that time, We know that God has Mom, Dad, Judy, and now you in the palm of his hands and has healed your body!. You were the best Brother I could have ever asked for. Although we were separated for a while by our age, I would like to have believe that we made up for lost times when we both got back home! I always wanted to be like you and that is why I joined the Air Force. You stayed 22 years and I stayed 4 years, sorry, couldn't help it. You went literally all over the world. I do have to admit that one time we both saw the same country but not at the same time. Uncle Sam would not let both of us be over there at the same time!
Rest in Peace Bro. I will see you again one day!
I love you more than you will ever know and I will miss you so much!

I just found out that Bob had passed. What a great guy and someone I was proud to know. My late Uncle met him once and they traded stories as he was also a boom operator on a KC-135. I ate lunch with Bob many times a few years ago. He will be missed. My deepest sympathy to Ruth Anne and the entire family. May he rest in peace.
