Obituary of Viola Goodman

Viola Goodman age 76 of Lake City, TN passed away Friday, September 21, 2012 at her residence. Viola was a dedicated mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was a native of Long Hollow in Lafollette, TN. Viola was a faithful Christian and was a member of Long Hollow Baptist Church in Lafollette, TN. She had a voice of an angel and enjoyed traveling to many other churches to sing for the Lord. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Viola was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton Alex & Annie Wilson; husband, Walter Goodman; son, Wayne Goodman; sister, Artella Bolton; brother, George Alex Wilson; and step mother, Ruth Wilson. Survivors, son, Joe Mack Goodman & wife Gloria Faye of Knoxville, TN; daughters, Linda Annette Griffin & husband Donald of Lake City, TN, Mary Elizabeth Butterworth & partner Don Liles of Clinton, TN, Brenda Sue Hensley & husband Kenneth of Lafollette, TN; brothers, Calvin Wilson of Lafollette, TN; Ronnie Wilson & wife Vonda of Lafollette, TN. Viola also leaves behind 22 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Viola's family will receive her friends on Monday, September 24th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm in the chapel of Jones Mortuary. Her graveside service will be Tuesday, September 25th at 2:00 pm at Oak Grove Cemetery in Lake City, TN with Rev. Robert Green and Rev. Clyde Daugherty officiating. Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN is in charge of all arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Jones Mortuary, 375 N Main Street, Clinton, TN 37716.
