Thomas Jefferson once said "I steer my bark with Hope in the head; leaving Fear astern." I am comforted by this quote from a great man because I know Mr. Nolan has passed the same way: with Hope guiding the way, leaving Fear behind him. His loss as a father, a family member, and a friend will be felt deeply by those he's left behind as the loss of any good person is felt. There's a ripple effect to the loss of someone who touches so many lives, a stone skipping across a still pond showing how much impact a single person can have. Mr. Nolan skipped across the path of my life to leave positive ripples in his wake. I will forever be grateful to have memories of his wide smile, infectious laughter, and kind, understated nature. My heart breaks for his daughter Laura who he has left behind as his legacy. I hope she knows how much she meant to him as she was truly the light of his life and I'm positive he's proud to see her still here, shining bright for all the rest of us until we meet him again.
