Obituary of Roger Raymond York

Roger York age 54 of Athens, TN passed away suddenly on July 15, 2016 at his home in Athens. Roger loved spending time with his family. He would call his mom every morning and evening. He was a great son, husband, father, and uncle. Roger was kind hearted and easy going. He always had a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Roger is preceded in death by his father, Albert York Sr. Roger is survived by his wife, Connie York of Athens, TN; mother, Betty York of Knoxville, TN; sons, Roger York Jr. and David Vail & fiance Melissa both of Athens, TN; brothers, Albert York Jr. of New Mexico and Charlie York & wife Dorothy of Knoxville, TN; sisters, Brenda York & David Southers of Strawberry Plains, TN; Debbie Pressley & husband Curtis of Knoxville, TN, Barbara York of Knoxville, TN, and JoAnn York & Aaron Irwin of Clinton, TN. Roger is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Roger’s family will receive his friends on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 from 9:00am – 3:00pm at 1418 Lewis Ave., Knoxville, TN 37920 with his interment immediately following at New Home Baptist Church Cemetery in Andersonville, TN. Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN assisted the York family with the arrangements.
