My mother just told me about Joy passing away. Needless to say, I am shocked. For those that don’t know, Noah and Joy took me in during my senior year in high school. John and I were very close friends and I was having problems at home. Both Noah and Joy treated me as their own and never asked for a thing out of me. I remember those times as some of the best in my young life as they guided without pressure and helped me thru a very troubling part of my life. I think of the “White House” (yes it was also the color white) and so many things come to mind.. While it is more common now, Joy pierced my ear when I asked. The first boy in East Buchanan High School with one! I forgot about that until now…. I lost touch with the family after joining the military but think of them often. I offer my prayers and deepest condolences. Joy was truly inspirational to me. Please feel free to contact me at hdsports@hotmail.com. I would love to hear from everybody.

To the family of Joy White, My sincere sympathy to you all in the death of Joy. We were high school classmates, in 4-H togehter and good friends in school. I was working in Ames the same time she was there also. Then later, I would see her in Winthrop or Independence. Always a jolly, happy-go-lucky, smiling gal with an unforgetable laugh. Dear family, We are so saddened to hear this news. We have many HAPPY memories of Joy. Her name says it all. She was a joyous person. Loved her sense of humor..her laughter … her loving ways.
