A final farewell to my jeannie.
My eulogy
I met jeannie for our first date on May 14-2010.
Our first date consisted of a 4 hour conversation that began our fairytale.
Jeannie was soo beautiful on that date that she intimidated me.(my whole life I thought women this beautiful were unapproachable).as she stood by the door to leave,my mind raced trying to find the words my desperate heart was searching for.
I told her before she could leave there was something I had to do.
I had a feeling that the most beautiful woman I had ever spoken with was about to walk away so I took a leap of faith and gave her a kiss.
My kiss had tell her something I didn't know how to say.so this wasn't just any kiss.this kiss had to tell her all she needed to know about me.it was a kiss I had waited a lifetime to give.somehow I knew she was who I prayed God to lead me to,and this was my one chance.thru that one kiss I had to show her I was who she was searching for.that one kiss did begin our fairytale.
Although we only had 6 short years.we packed in a lifetime of love and adventure.
That all ended at 4pm Friday ,June the 3rd.when God called her name.
Jeannie passed away at home in my arms just as she wanted to,just minutes after I woke her from a nap with a kiss.
Those who knew her, knew she had many illnesses, and had fought pain for many years during her short life.and that with love and patients had fought thru them all with a smile.she touched lives and made memories every day.
Some of her favorites were from time spent at school.teaching with some of her best friends.
Touching the hearts and minds, and leaving lasting impressions on the students who till this day still love her.all just for her willingness to just listen to what they had to say,and letting them know that each and every one of them was worth fighting for.
Family,Friends,Student friends,
Today we gather with heavy hearts to say goodbye.
Jeannie
You will be missed
You will always be in our hearts that you touched.
I'm the minds that you listened to and taught.
And in the hands that you held.
You were my angel on earth and your now in heaven.
You earned that halo and wings.
We know you'll be watching over us with a smile.
Ready to greet each of us when God calls our name.
YOU will NEVER BE FORGOTTEN
WE/I LOVE YOU Jeannie Marie Hood

I am so sorry for the loss of Jeannie. I worked with her at KAEC. She was a wonderful lady and I loved her dearly. After she left Knox county schools, I didn't speak to her that often but was able to some. I'm so glad she is no longer in pain. May God comfort you all thought this difficult time.

My angel in heaven ,I want you to know.you gave me 6 of the best years of my life.although you were ill for almost 4 of those I wouldn't trade one minute away.i know you thought you were a burden, you never were.i loved you more every day.my only regret was the short time we had.i want you to know I would do it all over again given the chance.
I feel honored and privileged you chose me of all people to share your love.i know you have no pain and that you got your wings and that gives me reason to smile .i know you look down from heaven and watch over us all.i look forward to being by your side when the lord calls my name ,just as he called yours.know I'll be counting the minutes away till that great day comes.I will always love you my dear angel Jeannie
