Obituary of Waldo Elwood Ghormley

Waldo Elwood Ghormley age 76 of Rocky Top, TN passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Summit View of Rocky Top in Rocky Top, TN. He was born March 23, 1940 in Selvin, Indiana to the late Richard M. Ghormley and Pansy M. Spradley Ghormley. Waldo retired from Indiana Forge in the harbor of East Chicago, Indiana. He held office in the union, and was a member of the Eagles. Waldo was of the Catholic faith. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers, Richard Leroy, Henry Allen, Carl Leon, and Denzil Ray; three sisters, Vera Rose Harper, Edith Faye Hicks, and Hazel Louise Ghormley; two daughters, Patricia Sue, and Debra Kay; one grandson, and one great grandson. Waldo is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sylvia Jane Ghormley of Rocky Top, TN; daughters, Penny Webster, Janie Pyle (Richard); son, Waldo “Butch” Ghormley (Sandy); seven grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and one great – great grandchild soon to be born. No services are scheduled for Waldo, but the family will have a private interment for him at a later date in Boonville, IN. Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN is in charge of all arrangements.
