Obituary of Mable Garner

Mable Garner age 94 of Powell, TN passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at her home. She was a Godly woman and loved the Lord. Mable had unconditional love for everyone who knew her. She enjoyed sewing, and gardening. Mable was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Elizabeth Anderson; husband, Murk Garner; children, James Garner, Ralph Garner, Linda Lawson, Deward Garner, Glen Garner, Kenneth (Gauldy) Garner, Dean Garner, Charlene Reagan; several brothers, and sisters. Mable is survived by her sons, Anderson Garner & wife, Pat of Powell, TN, Virgil Garner of Powell, TN, Arnold Garner & wife, Polly of Strawberry Plains, TN, and Ricky Garner of Fountain City, TN; daughters, Janice Dockery of Clinton, TN, Darlene Swopshire & husband, Billy of Heiskell, TN, and Kathy Shelton & husband, Roy of Powell, TN; brother, Clifford May of Maynardville, TN. Mable also leaves behind a legacy of 5 generations including numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great - great grandchildren. Mable’s family will receive her friends from 6:00pm – 8:00pm on Friday, February 5, 2016 in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with her funeral service to follow at 8:00pm with Rev. Don Fox officiating. Mable’s interment will be 2:00pm on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Farmers Grove Baptist Church cemetery in Clinton, TN.
