Obituary of Rev. John D. Lane

Rev. John D. Lane (Johnny), age 56, Of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Kingston, TN passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at his residence. Johnny was born August 5, 1959. He was a people person and had a gift of prophesying to others. Johnny was a member of the Church of God of the Union Assembly in Knoxville, TN. His favorite verse in the bible is III John: 2 “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth”. Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Clyde T. Lane Sr, and mother, Lucille A. Harris; brothers, Tommy Lane Jr, Jerry Lane, and Raymond Harris; grandmother, Sally Lane; and grandfather, James Lane. Johnny is survived by his wife of 20 years, Rebecca M. Lane of Knoxville, TN; mother in law, Lucy Crawford; siblings, Sally Newlin, and Edward Lane. Johnny also leaves behind special friends, Steve and Marissa Sharp, Bro. Paul Smith, devoted Pastor Rocky Smith, Rev. Allen Massengill, and a host of other relatives and friends. Johnny’s family and friends will meet at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 14, 2015 for his graveside service at Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood, TN with Rev. Rocky Smith, and Rev. Allen Massengill officiating. Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN is in charge of all arrangements.
