Obituary of Lela Ward

Lela Jane Murray Ward, age 93, of Clinton, TN passed away on Monday, July 30, 2012 at the Tennova Hospice Center in Halls. She was a member of Blowing Springs Baptist Church. Lela was active in WMU & a leader for Girl's Auxiliary at Blowing Springs Baptist Church. She was also a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary. Lela was preceded in death by her parents, William Edward & Eda Mae Murray, sister, Daisy Sharon; brothers, Edward, Bryant, and Rufus Murray. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 68 years, William Charles "Bill" Ward, Sr.; son: William Charles Jr. & Brenda Ward of Athens,AL; daughters, Betty Jane & Johnny Adkins of Sevierville,TN; Mary Ann & Allen Stuart of Essex,IA; Shirley Marie & Jeff Coffman of Maynardville,TN; sisters, Vera Poitevent of Bainbridge,GA; Dorothy Aligood of Iron City,GA; sisters-in-law, Christine Murray of Bainbridge,GA; Corrine Murray of Chattahoochee,FL; brother & sister-in-law, DeLeon & Virginia Ward of Baker, FL; grandchildren, Shannon & Peter Osucha, Knoxville, TN; William Charles Ward III, David Ward, Panama City, FL; Sharon Pallicer, Tonya Pallicer, Athens, AL; Glen & Dawn Pallicer, Ardmore, AL; Jeff Stuart, McCook, NE; Bethany & Nate Moorman, Bristol, TN; Suzanne Stuart, Knoxville, TN; Josh & Brandy Coffman, Blaine, TN; Greg Coffman, Maynardville, TN; great grandchildren, Sarah, Rachel, Mary, & Rebecca Osucha, Tyler Rogers, Danny, Heather, & Ashley Pallicer, Sydney & Seth Ward. Lela is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, & other relatives & friends including special friends Shane & Whitney Matchette. Lela's family will receive friends Tuesday, July 31, 2012 from 6PM-8PM in the chapel of Jones Mortuary in Clinton. Her celebration of life will be Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 11:00AM at Blowing Springs Baptist Church with Rev. David White officiating. Lela's interment will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park in Oak Ridge, TN immediately following services. Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN is in charge of all arrangements.
