I first met Faye about 25 years ago when her youngest daughter Jeanne brought me home to meet her parents.
Reflecting back on those times, I can remember Faye being very polite to me, but I also remember her piercing stares pointed at me. I believe she was trying to sum me up or run me off or both. I'm still not sure. I remember thinking " Boy, Jeanne sure has a feisty momma. What am I getting myself into".
I guess I was taking her baby daughter away. I understood.
But as the years went by Jeanne and I got married and I know that Faye and I grew quite fond of each other. Alot of men don't have a good relationship with thier Mother-in -Law, but I did. She was my second Mother.
The main thing I want to share with you'all here is that I saw the loving heart that Faye had for all of her family.
I felt the love she had for me
And I especially saw the love she had for my my wife Jeanne, I especially saw the love she had for her daughter Chris.
And I especially saw the love she had for my children. It is not that she was there for my children 99% of the time, she was there for my children 100% of the time. It did not matter what she was busy doing,
If she could spend some time with her grand kids she would adjust her plans. I really appreciate Faye for helping with our children. They were her kids too!
And I love her for these things
