Obituary of George Martin

George Richard Martin Sr. age 68 of Oliver Springs formerly of Clinton, passed away suddenly Saturday, March 1, 2014. George was the owner of Martin's Towing and was well known in Anderson County and the surrounding area for driving his tow truck. In his spare time he enjoyed working on cars, fishing, playing spades, going to yard sales, buying scratch offs, and spending time with his grandkids. George was always there when you needed him, and he will be missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Myrtle Ethel Martin; daughter, Jessica Martin and sister, Bertha Nolan. George is survived by his wife, Teresa Martin of Oliver Springs; sons, George Martin Jr. and wife Ashley of Clinton, TN and Jared Martin; daughters, Rebecca Cook and husband Scotty of Lake City, TN; Haley Mowery; Mary Dillman and husband, Kenny of Clinton, TN; Ethel Mae Hatfield and fiancé, James of Clinton, TN; April Morrison and husband, Dewayne of Powell, TN; Wanda Russell and husband, Billy of Corpus Christie, TX; brother, Troy Martin of Clinton, TN; sisters, Leatha Lowe, Martha Espinoza, Carlene Johnson, Gladys Tsimbidis and Linda McCarthey all of Clinton, TN. He is also survived by 15 special grandchildren, 5 special great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. George's family will receive his friends on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 from 6pm - 8pm with his funeral service immediately following at 8pm all in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with Rev. Gary Smith officiating. His interment will be Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 1pm at Jarnigan Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
