Obituary of Ulys Phillips

Ulys W. Phillips age 78 of Lake City, TN passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, TN. Ulys was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing and restoring antique cars. Ulys was a pure ole country boy and loved helping others who were in need. Ulys is preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Thomas Phillips and Oma; brothers, Lonny Phillips, Louie Phillips; sisters, Pearl Daugherty, Mae Daugherty, Saralena Phillips, and Hazel Buhl. Ulys is survived by his daughter, Patricia Hammons of Harriman, TN; brothers, Onzie Phillips of Caryville, TN, Tommy Phillips and wife Brenda of Caryville, TN; sister, Litha Kennedy of Lake City, TN; 1 grandson, Dwane Cowan, 6 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Ulys family and friends will have a funeral service at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with Rev. Ulys Ray Phillips officiating. Ulys interment will be 2:00 pm on Friday, November 29, 2013 at the Little Community Baptist Church cemetery in Clinton, TN. Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN is in charge of all arrangements.
