Obituary of Wendell Thornton

Wendell Ray Thornton, age 46, of Heiskell TN, passed away Monday, June 10, 2013, at Tennova-North Knoxville Medical Center. Wendell loved spending most of his time with his nieces and nephews, to whom he was better known as Uncle "Doo-Da". He will be dearly missed. Wendell is preceded in death by his parents, William Riley & Dollie Rose Thornton; sister Mable Ruth Thornton. Wendell is survived by his son, Daniel Thornton, of Oak Ridge, TN; daughters, Amber Lawson of Oak Ridge, TN & Crystal Thornton of Clinton, TN; brothers, Bill Thornton of Winter Haven, FL, Larry & Tina Thornton of Briceville, TN, Ben & Carolyn Thornton of Frost Bottom, TN, Gary & Brenda Thornton of Heiskell, TN; grandchildren, Christian & Hunter; special Friends, Rose Ann Brown of Lake City, TN and Ronnie Smiddy of Lake City, TN. Wendell's family will receive his friends, Thursday, June 13th,2013 from 6:00-8:00 pm with his memorial service to follow at 8:00 pm in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with Rev. Larry Thornton and Rev. Robby Owens officiating. His Interment will be at the Graves Gap Baptist Church in Briceville, TN. Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN is in charge of all arrangements.
