Obituary of Richard Weldon

Richard Weldon, age 93, of Clinton, TN passed away early Saturday, May 25, 2013 at his residence in Clinton. Richard was a member of Greenway Baptist Church. He worked for Y-12 for 12 years & drove a Greyhound bus before starting his own business, Weldon's Quality Nursery, which he owned & operated for 32 years. Richard enjoyed working outdoors, fishing, gardening, & being with his grandkids. He is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Erna Mae Weldon; parents, Lewis & Jenny Weldon; brothers, Robert, Bud, Howard, & Leo Weldon; sisters, Cleo Weldon & Jessie Hall; brother - in- law Mickey Phillips. Richard is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carolyn Weldon; son, John Richard Weldon (wife Amy) of Clinton; brother, James Odell Weldon of Alabama; brother-in-law, Michael Phillips of Wartburg & sisters-in-law, Cindy Phillips & Penny Carol all of Wartburg, TN; grandchildren, Dane, Hanna, Ashley, Nina "Gracie", & Samuel; mother & father-in-law, Charles & Bertha Phillips of Wartburg, TN as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Richard's family will receive his friends, Monday, May 27, 2013 from 6pm - 8pm in the chapel of Jones Mortuary in Clinton. His funeral service will be Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 2pm in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with Rev. Darrell Griffiths & Rev. Danny Light officiating. His interment will immediately follow at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Powell, TN. In lieu of flowers, Richard's wishes were for donations to be sent to Grace Christian Academy for Nina Grace Weldon & Samuel Weldon. Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN is in charge of all arrangements.
