Obituary of James Melton

James Melton age 75 of Andersonville, TN passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013 at Norris Health and Rehabilitation Center in Andersonville, TN. He was a devoted grandfather, and loved to fish. James lived in northwest Indiana for more than forty years before returning to Tennessee to retire. James was always willing to lend a helping hand and was heavily involved in the Democratic Party for 30 years. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Methodist Church in Andersonville, TN. James is preceded in death by his parents, Zee & Reba Melton; daughter, Rebecca Kowalski; and sister, Betty Irwin. James is survived by his son, David Melton and wife, Kim of Cocoa Beach, FL; daughter, Christine Melton of Springfield, OR; brothers, Clifton Melton of Clinton, TN, Clayton Foust of Andersonville, TN; sisters, Ruth Murphy of Clinton, TN, Barbara Henderson of Clinton, TN, Virginia McCoy of Andersonville, TN, Sue Melton of Andersonville, TN; grandchildren, Airman First Class Melton of McChord AFB, WA, and Tara Melton of Glendale, AZ, and a host of other relatives and friends. James's family will receive his friends on Wednesday, May 1st from 1:00 - 2:30 pm in the chapel of Jones Mortuary. His interment will follow his visitation at the Norris Memorial Gardens in Norris, TN. Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN is in charge of all arrangements.
