Obituary of Rita Mae Rector

Rita Mae Rector age 78 of Clinton, TN passed away early Tuesday morning, July 26, 2016 at Norris Health and Rehabilitation Center in Norris, TN. Rita loved the Lord and was a member of Charity Baptist Church. She loved her grandchildren and the outdoors. Rita always wore a cap and loved making people laugh. She was the world’s best biscuit maker, and in her lowest moments, was always optimistic. Rita is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Pearl (Packett) Neland and step father, George Neland; husband, Johnny Rector; brothers, Jackie Packett, Carl Packett, Ray Packett, Bo Neland, Ronnie Mack Neland, and Jim Neland and grandson, David Rector, and son in law, Larry Snellings. Surviving relatives are sons, Johnny Mack Rector & wife Towana of Waverly, TN and George Rector & wife Cathy of Elma, WA; daughters, Carol Comer & husband James of LaFollette, TN, Rosa Rector of LaFollette, TN, and Lu Snellings of Clinton, TN; sisters, Minnie Queener & Roy Blackwell of Jacksboro, TN and Georgia Poore & husband Buster of Lake City, TN; grandchildren, Peggy Cardwell & husband Jim of Miami, FL, Robbie Comer & wife Jamie of LaFollette, TN, Margaret Bryant & husband David of Lafayette, TN, Justin Rector & twin brother Brian Rector of Santa Rosa, CA, Aaron Hill of Clinton, TN, Meagan Shelton & husband Ken of Baytown, TX, 8 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Rita’s family will receive friends on Thursday, July 28, 2016 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN with her funeral service immediately following at 8:00pm in the Chapel of Jones Mortuary. Rita’s interment will be Friday, July 29, 2016 at 11:00am at Oak Ridge Memorial Park in Oak Ridge, TN.
